Anti-social BehaviourOur Strategy - Swansea has a well developed strategy to tackle anti social behaviour. The Home Office attended the launch of the structure on 05th November 2003, and confirmed that they recognised that the adopted structure was one of the best methods for achieving Home Office ideals to tackle the problem. The Partnership is a mix between the Statutory agencies such as South Wales Police, all departments with City and County of Swansea, MAWW Fire and Rescue, Residential Social Landlords and Health and also the voluntary sector such as Victim Support and Age Concern. The Safer Swansea Partnership recognises that each agency has a vital role to play in tackling Anti Social Behaviour and it is our aim to work together to ensure that safe and tolerant communities and built and maintained. Through sharing resources and information, we are achieving this aim. We are supporting people to take responsibility for their actions, challenge people that don't and ensure that we recognise anti social behaviour, take the problems seriously and act swiftly to prevent it. With the assistance of the new team of prosecutors we will have swift access to justice and be seen to be dealing expediently with the problems. We will also have the specialist knowledge which is required to ensure that offenders are tackled in the way which provides the best solution for all concerned – from the statutory partners to the victims and witnesses. There is a four-step process in place, which we hope will deal with the vast majority of cases by identifying and tackling the causes of anti-social behaviour. |
